Until 2008 this place was managed by the Cambodian Craft Cooperation (CCC), based on a contract with provincial authorities. Unfortunately this contract has not been extended. We are still hoping that in the near future there will be another company or investor taking over that place.
Roka Kandal is still maintained by Cambodian staff, but not English speaking. But it can still accommodate 2-3 guests. You can contact on arrival Mr. Sothea, a local English speaking guide in Kratie, who can confirm bookings, mobile +855(0)11-554 056.

This is a unique place. It is the only accommodation in Cambodia located so closed the Mekong river.
The lodge has now one functioning houses, constructed in traditional style with wood and bamboo with 2-3 beds. Behind the lodge the historical Roka Kandal is located (the red/yellow building on the picture below). It is a handicraft centre of Kratie wicker-workers, members of the Cambodian Craft Cooperation.
Across the street a new Buddhist pagoda has been constructed.

No discount for rental of both rooms.

Rooms have a Western style modern (private) bathroom with shower cubicle / hot water (the picture left is a similar image).
